About Shane McGregor

Shane graduated from IT Tralee in October, 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) degree in Design for Interactive Multimedia.

While specializing in Graphic Design, Photography and Video Production, Shane is also skilled in Web Design, Film Production (pre production, production and post production), PR Management and Animation.

IRW - Imaginations Running Wild (12/13 - 05/18)

Throughout my time as a student at IT Tralee, I established the brand IRW - Imaginations Running Wild to operate under and gain experience within my industry. This was a successful business venture as I established a well known brand and gained a variety of clients. Primarily based in Graphic Design and Photography, I designed promotional content and captured photos for IT Tralee, for clubs & societies within IT Tralee, for student events and for a variety of businesses based in county Kerry, Ireland.

McGregor Properties (04/17 - 10/18)

For McGregor Properties, I was hired to design multiple retail advertisements for the Kerry’s Eye newspaper and the Listowel Advertiser magazine. All designs featured multiple properties that were edited appropriately and accompanied by subtle details such as locations and guideline prices. Each design also carried the company’s brand, color scheme and contact information.

SRAC Atlantic Challenge (03/19)

The SRAC Atlantic Challenge, is an annual charity cycle event featuring a 100 km or 135 km route around County Kerry. The 2019 event featured thousands of cyclists from all over the world who set off from Tralee, continued over the famous Conor Pass and around the beautiful Dingle Peninsula before returning to Tralee. It was an honour to be hired as a Photographer for the event and it was an amazing experience with fond moments.

Video Production

Cycle Against Suicide (01/17)

I was asked to volunteer by Jim Breen, the founder of Cycle Against Suicide, as a Videographer for the Cycle Against Suicide - Student Leaders' Congress that was held at UL - University of Limerick on the 18th & 19th of January, 2017. Thousands of secondary school students from all over Ireland gathered for some fun, entertainment, positive-thinking and motivational workshops. The event was a huge success and I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of it.

Film Production

Stormm Productions & Eagle Sky Media (01/18 - 04/18)

I operated as a Production Assistant, Head Runner, Assistant Camera Operator and Gaffer for the production of the short film Silence is Golden - From Birth to Death. The short film is based around creating awareness for domestic violence featuring true stories that were reenacted. The short film went on to be screened at Dingle Film Festival (2018), Kerry Film Festival (2018) and Waterford Film Festival (2018) as well as countless venues and workshops around Ireland.
